THE CHOICE

The costliest problem in most organizations is a little known problem at the heart of the human sciences. Here is the problem: Most people feel that others cause problems, but few people feel they themselves cause them. Consequently, no one feels responsible, and individuals and organizations seem doomed to live with problems no one seems willing or able to solve.

This problem, known by scholars as the problem of “resistance or self-deception,” devours organizational resources. For example, all of the common “people problems” relating to leadership, communication, conflict resolution, team-building, merging of organizational cultures, alignment, labour relations, trust, and so on, are manifestations of self-deception.

Hailed as a major development, this solution has profound implications for personal and organizational performance - implications that turn conventional wisdom on its head. This workshop entitled, “The Choice” is Arbinger’s Core Training and is how we begin all of Arbinger’s work with leaders, teams, organizations, corporations, governmental agencies & humanitarian groups. Participants learn what the box of self-deception is, how we get in it and how to get out. They discover that self-deception is at the heart of most “people problems” in the organization, and learn the extent to which we participate in problems we believe are purely the problems of others.

"The Choice" gives participants the key to: relationships, communication, conflict resolution, individual growth, effective leadership, team-building, motivation, cooperation, accountability, trust, living values in the spirit they were intended, authenticity, focusing on results, alignment, vision creation and buy-in, decision-making and more.
